"It seems like every day there is some sort of music playing."
At least that's what some students say about Old Dominion University. Outside of music classes, instructional lessons, choir and band rehersals, many students keep the music frequencies on repeat.
For some, music is a hobby much like reading, writing, partying and-yes- knitting. But for others, it's truly apart of his or her aura-the student's LIFE.
The ODU Independent Music Association aims to bring together such students from either spectrum, allowing people to connect to practice, talk about or help produce and record music. As of July 31, 2011, this casual gathering of musicians became an Old Dominion University organization.
Students of ODU are able to join the organization via the facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/groups/135783376509994/
as well as sign up through the Office of Student Activities & Engagement. To join an organization, you can go to http://studentaffairs.odu.edu/osal/information/cocurricular.shtml to learn how to create a student log-in and sign up for the different organizations offered on campus that you are apart of or wish to join!
Be sure to contact Darius Mines for more information on becoming a part of the ODU Independent Music Association!
For my blog, you will be getting info on the latest releases of albums and songs as well as reading about the musicians themselves, learning where they will be performing and more! I hope this will spread the word about the amaing world of music and open the ears of all students here on the ODU campus.
